This post is dedicated to all those out there, all you moms and dads, who are concerned about my classes overseas. Less than a month ago we started attending class here in London. I'm using the term "class" very loosely because in all actuality I'm only in a class like environment (sitting behind a desk with a teacher in front of me) a mere 3 hours a week (all on Monday. )These 3 hours I wouldn't really say we learn anything, all we really do is discuss what we've done in the past week, what are thoughts are on adapting to this new international urban city, and discuss issues that the British are concerned about. Our homework, journals, all we need to do is journal about our time here and reflect on what is happening. Easy enough...
My other class "Art in London" doubles my class time quota in that it lasts 3 hours on Tuesday. All the pictures in this post are from our first day of class in the British Museum.Basically each week we meet at the steps of a new museum and get a sometimes lovely, sometime boring, tour of the art in it. We take notes, because I guess were supposed to try to remember artists names and the prominent details of each piece of work for our 1 test in the class at the end. I actually kind of enjoy this class. It is teaching me to enjoy art more, although sometime I still feel sometimes it is looked in far too much. Our teacher talks about things such as which direction the person is facing, what colors they used, how the painting is laid out, etc..... like each thing was carefully planned out and had a exact reason for being like that. A lot of the time I just feel like the artist just painted, used whatever colors he had available and hoped it worked out in the end.
Anyways here's to another short post. I have a few more coming don't worry.
